Tour de Brooklyn 2012

The 3 of us just got back from our week long Oklahoma/ Texas trip.We discovered that not only is traveling with an infant way easier than we thought, our particular infant is a champion traveler!

Brooklyn met and napped with Daniel's cousin's son who was born exactly 1 week before her
Brooklyn was money. She slept the entire flight both ways and only cried twice in the car! For any new moms about to travel with their little one I'd say just remember to pack enough diapers and food in the diaper bag (we bought diapers/ wipes and formula when we got there so it didn't take up room in our suitcases) , and step aside before going into security to get yourself situated - if you're stressed the baby will be stressed too, allow yourself plenty of time that first trip (we left for the airport and extra hour earlier than we normally do in case we had to stop and because we knew it'd take longer with a kiddo- it was nice to not feel rushed).

We hit up OKC first and were going from the second we arrived! Daniel's parents hosted a sip n' see one afternoon for their friends and a family dinner that evening for all of our grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Brooklyn loved being held and played with 24/7- she especially liked her cousin Jack. She would just stare and grin any time he was around. I asked if he'd come back to Oregon with us to help babysit- he said yes. I just nabbed me a 5 year old babysitter.

The next day some of our friends held a sip n' see for Brooklyn too. It was so great to get to catch up with all of our friends (who all happen to be expecting their 2nd or 3rd kiddos - one couple even had their baby 2 days later -Congrats Lee & Ren!!).

Next it was on to Texas to see my family! They of course hosted a sip n' see for Miss Brooklyn as well (we did a lot of sippin' and seein' if you haven't noticed!) where she got lots of love and snuggles from our friends and parents friends. Brooklyn also got to finally meet my Brother and his wife (and their dog Wookie) and she got to meet her Granny (great grandma) and one of my Aunt & Uncles. We also took Brooklyn on her first trip to Baylor's campus where she met every member of the athletic staff that was in their office, and by met I mean we chatted while she slept.

I'm a goof and forgot to snap pictures at the parties, but I suppose that jut means I was having too much fun chatting to remember to grab the camera! As fast and crazy as it was, we soaked in every moment. We just kept telling each other how incredibly blessed we are to have so many people who love, pray, and care for us and Brooklyn.

Next up BK's 2 month update!
