Can it be Friday now??

Have you ever had one of those days where you feel like if your brain absorbs 1 more piece of information, if someone adds 1 more thing to your to-do list your head might actually explode?


Today was one of those days.

I’d like to think that I am the type of person whose plate you can put a pretty fair amount of stuff on and I can handle it with out wigging out. I like to be busy. Busy means I gettin’ work done son!

Today was busy on steroids.

Today was out to get me.

Today wanted to take me out to the playground after school and beat the living crap outta me.

It seemed like for every 1 thing I crossed off the to-do list, something came up that had me adding 3 more things to the list. By the end of today I had added way more stuff than I’d crossed off. I felt like I was getting stupider as the day went on because I didn’t know which task to attempt to tackle next.

It was a......“Ok, now I’m gonna e-mail to confirm the menu for the event next week, oh wait I need to finish this e-mail to IT that I’d started before my phone rang and got sidetracked. Speaking of phone call, where’s that invoice I printed from the phone call? Oh crap the phone’s ringing, wait...who’s here to see me???? ” kind of day.

I’ll be having wine with my dinner tonight thankyaverymuch.

That’s all. Just wondering if I was the only one. :)

Vaguebooking

I'm on a one woman quest to stop "vaguebooking".

It drives me insane.

I've watched it on my friggin' newsfeed for what seems like eternity and I...have... had it! The entire point of Facebook is so that we can all satisfy our narcissistic craving for attention. Right?!?!? Well, that, and let's all admit everyone enjoys a little legal cyber-stalking. 

Facebook was invented so that you can share what you are up to with your friends and vice versa. In theory, if all of your "friends" are actually your friends- then you should be able to post whatever you'd like, right?!?! No need for ambiguity and anonymity- just tell us like it is. .......So why are we vaguebooking, people??!?!

For those of you who don't know, "Vaguebooking" is when you post vague/ mysterious/ enigmatic status updates. Here are a few examples:

"OMG."  :: That's it??? OMG what?? because"OMG I'm engaged" and "OMG they brought me ham instead of turkey" are on 2 completely different levels.

"Can't wait til fill in the day/date" ::  Is that when you leave on some fabulous vacay or are you taking your dog to the groomer?  You gotta finish the sentence!

"Some people are so rude" ::  Which people?!? What did they do? We know there are rude people in the world and you need to identify them for us! Because right now. in my book, that "some people" would be you, for leaving me hanging :)

**ones like this make me especially nuts-o because when I see it, I, being the everyone-please-like-me person that I am, automatically look at my last status to see if it could have offended said Vaguebooker. ....nope. Don't think "Can't wait to watch Modern Family tonight" qualifies as offensive.**

"(insert emoticon here)" :: Do I even need to explain this one?? You do know that by just posting a sad face someone (who is nicer than me) will inevitably post something along the lines of "aww, what happened?" or "I hope you're OK."  and you'll have to post an explanation anyway. I boycott those updates and refuse to ask (even though inside I'm just dyyyyying to know) out of sheer protest of your sucky emoticon-only post. Oh, and if you post only a smiley face I'm assuming you're pregnant. Even if you're a boy.

I could list for days. Obviously by posting your mysterious status, you want people to know that you are mad/ happy/ sad/ whatever... so either post the whole dadgum thing or don't post at all. There I said it.  I know... I'm a terrible person, but I'm surely not the only one...or am I???

See, It's not so difficult.

I'm beginning my quest to stop this heinous injustice to us nosey facebookers around the globe - right here on my little blog. I don't quite know what I'll do yet. 

I'm thinking something along the lines of when I see a vaguebooking violation, driving to their place of residence, confiscating their weapons (in this case computers, iPads, smartphones), removing all wine, chocolate, and baked goods (consider it a payment for my service), and forcing them to watch hours of Jersey Shore footage (that's the punishment portion). 

Or I can resort to what I normally do....blog about it, then do nothing. Any and all suggestions are most welcome.

Lets start a revolution.

There's nothing like being close to family! Skype helps, but it's most definitely not the same!

If you're ever in Waco, Texas go to Leal's and order a chili topper, or a burrito, or heck just order the amazing tortillas....just go - you'll thank me later!

Not being close enough to attend Baylor football games (or basketball, or baseball).

George's Crazy wings.

Again, If you're ever in Waco...I know George's is known for their Big O's but my guilty pleasure is the crazy wings. What's a crazy wing you ask??? It's a hunk o' chicken breast wrapped in bacon stuffed with jalapeno and cheese, and fried til the bacon is crispy and the cheese is melted. Cut that baby in half dunk it in ranch and enjoy! I'm sure each one is like a million calories but who's counting right?

My OKC Co-workers.

Don't get me wrong, I've got some awesome gals (and guys) that I've met here in Oregon and I love 'em to death. There's something about our small little OKC office though that I just adore. We all worked hard but we had fun doing it and had some of the funniest office lunches. I literally have never laughed more than I did at FMI/CFO!  If any of you gals or guy reads this - I miss the beserks outta you guys!!

Texas accents.

Yep - I miss Texas accents....while most non-Texas people hear a Texas accent and automatically deduct 20 points from an IQ, I hear a Texas accent and I think of home :)

Restaurants that are open after 8pm.

In a town of 10 people (ok add a few zeros) most everything is locally owned. While that is really cool -the downside is that people are usually 9ish -5ish and closed on weekends, and holidays (like even Columbus day, and secretary's day, and Wednesday)

Dillard's & Hobby Lobby

Literally having withdrawals. On the bright side- I'm sure we've saved a gazillion dollars.

Central time zone.

By far the best time zone for sports. While it's nice that NFL games are all done by 9pm, getting up before 7am on Saturdays to catch ESPN College Gameday is redic. Not to mention having to take late lunches (aka not eating lunch so I can leave at 4) to watch the MLB playoffs and world series. Central time zone people you've got it made.

My Girls.
I miss being able to call up my bestest friends to rendez-vous for a post work cocktail and catch up, or meet to tailgate before a game. We're spread across the country and it sucks. Miss you girlies!
