Brooklyn is 2 months!

Wow! 2 months have already flown by! It's incredible how much she's grown and changed since her 1 month post.

Weight: 10 lbs 15 oz (45%)
Length: 23 1/2 inches (93%)
(also her noggin' measurement came in around like the 91% - we love her big ol' melon head!) :)

My sister just opened her etsy shop and knit a headband and hat for her and I wanted to snap a pic while we were playing the other day- she protested at first.....
....but finally obliged.
yesterday I had her in her Baylor gear for the Big 12 tourney. My sister made her a girly BU hat :)
Milestones:
-She's discovered her hands and has a lot more control batting at things and grasping at things.

-She's smiling all the time and starting to learn to laugh. It's like an awkward "HA!" laugh, no cute giggles here. She's also been "talking" a lot more which again, isn't the cute cooing and babbling, it's more like an over excited yelling. She'll be on her mat and you'll hear what you think is the beginnings of whining until you look over and she has this huge toothless grin on her face. She's like her mommy - loves to talk and she wants to be sure everyone hears what she's got to say.

- We don't really have a schedule, I'm not even sure when people start doing schedules for their kids or if they do schedules. Really night time is the only real schedule we have. She has her feeding and goes to bed around 9-10 pm then gets up around 4 am for a feed, sleeps til 8 am where we eat & play until it's time to eat again around 11 am - sometimes she fall asleep for a bit between. Then after the 11 am feed until the 9 pm feed it's anyone's guess (other than 2 more feeds at around 2-3 pm and 5-6 pm). There's usually at least 1 long nap in there, some days 2 long naps, but the time she takes them varies from day to day. If anyone has some pointers on getting her on to a more consistent schedule I'm all ears.

- She has been a lazy tummy timer this month, she either falls asleep or lays there trying to eat the mat.

-She's up to 6 hour stretches of sleep at night which is awesome!

- She LOVES bath time - especially getting her hair washed. Also, she finds her face quite amusing.  Put a mirror in front of her and she'd look, smile, and talk at herself for hours if you'd let her.

- And I figured out from trial and error this week with the music stations on our TV, that she enjoys the rap, jazz, 90's and contemporary christian stations and hates the classical, country, and top 40 stations. She is her mother's child!

  2. A lot of people I know have read and used the Babywise series to help their kids get on a good schedule. We have the book (I think... or else it's available through the library) if you want to borrow it. We tried it, but I didn't really stick with it strictly, so I can't say if it really helped us much or not.

Also, we have a crib mirror if you want to borrow it for Brooklyn. Grace used to love to stare into it for long periods of time. Now she would use it to launch herself out of the crib. Let me know if you're interested.
